Refund Policy
Aftermark is pre-launch. There is nothing to buy today, and there is no order or receipt.
Try it free for 30 days. If you subscribe and change your mind, you get 14 days to ask for your money back.
The guarantee
Start with the free trial. You can use Aftermark free for 30 days, and you don't need a card to start. When the trial ends it just stops. Nobody is charged unless they choose to subscribe.
Your first payment: 14-day money-back guarantee. If you subscribe, monthly or yearly, and decide Aftermark isn't for you, ask within 14 days of your first paid charge and we'll refund that charge in full. You don't need to give a reason.
Yearly renewals: also 14 days. If your yearly plan renews and you didn't mean it to, ask within 14 days of the renewal charge and we'll refund that renewal in full.
Monthly renewals are not refunded. After your first month, monthly charges aren't refundable. You can cancel at any time, though. Cancelling stops all future charges, and you keep access until the end of the month you've already paid for.
When you get a refund, your subscription ends and your Aftermark licence is turned off. Your journal files are still on your own computer, and they belong to you.
How to ask. Pick whichever is easier:
- Use the link in your Paddle receipt or subscription confirmation email, or go to paddle.net, find your order, and choose "Request refund."
- Or email [email protected] from the address you subscribed with. Include your Paddle order number if you have it. If you don't, we can look it up from your email address.
We approve every request that falls within these windows. We'll only refuse in cases of clear fraud or abuse, such as repeatedly subscribing and refunding.
Who processes it
Our online reseller is Paddle.com. Paddle is the merchant of record for all Aftermark orders and subscriptions. That means Paddle sells you the subscription, takes payment, handles sales tax and VAT, and sends your receipts. "Paddle" or "PADDLE.NET* SLOTHTRADING" (or similar) will appear on your card or bank statement. Paddle's Buyer Terms also apply to your purchase.
Refunds go back to your original payment method through Paddle. Once a refund is approved, the money usually arrives within a few business days. The exact timing depends on your bank or card issuer, not on us.
You can manage everything through Paddle: cancel, turn off renewal, update your card, or ask for a refund. Use the "Manage subscription" link in your confirmation email, or go to paddle.net. You can also email us, and we'll handle it with Paddle for you.
Your legal rights are on top of this, not instead of it
Depending on where you live, the law may give you extra rights to cancel. Nothing on this page reduces them. Where the law gives you more than this policy, the law wins.
UK, EU, EEA and Switzerland. Consumers usually have a 14-day right to withdraw from an online subscription. That period starts when you take out the paid subscription. Since the trial needs no card and never turns into a paid plan on its own, the 14 days start on the day you subscribe. In the UK, a yearly plan also gives you a fresh 14 days each time it renews. Our guarantee already gives you a full refund in all of these cases, so in practice you get your money back within 14 days either way.
Starting straight away. Aftermark is digital content, available to download the moment you subscribe. So at checkout we'll ask you to tick a box to confirm two things: that you want access to start immediately, and that you understand you may lose your statutory right of withdrawal once you download or use it. We'll repeat this in your confirmation email. Ticking the box does not affect our 14-day guarantee. You can still ask for a full refund under section 1.
Withdrawing. EU customers can withdraw through the "withdraw from contract" option in the Paddle customer portal, reached from the link in your confirmation email or at paddle.net. Everyone else can use the methods in section 1. If you withdraw in time, you'll be refunded within 14 days of your request.
Monthly renewal charges don't come with a new withdrawal right, but you can cancel at any time to stop future charges.
Faulty software. If Aftermark doesn't work as described, you may have rights under consumer law in your country regardless of these time limits. Contact us first so we can try to fix it.
Things worth knowing before launch
These are on the pricing page too, because we would rather you knew them before launch:
- Aftermark is planned to run on your own Windows computer. There is no hosted version and no mobile app.
- Aftermark is in pre-launch and isn't available to download yet. You'll add trades to your journal yourself or import them from files. We're still deciding which brokers the first release will read files from, and we'll list them here before launch. Aftermark never connects to your brokerage to place, change or cancel orders.
- Aftermark will ship with no market data. Current prices for valuing your own positions need your own API key from a provider you sign up with separately.
- Aftermark does not identify or adjust for wash sales or other tax-lot rules, so its profit and loss figures may differ from your broker's Form 1099-B and from what you report to the IRS. Use your broker's tax documents and a tax professional for tax reporting. Aftermark is not tax software and does not give tax advice.
Chargebacks
If something has gone wrong, please contact us or Paddle before you dispute a charge with your bank. Within the windows above, a refund is guaranteed and faster than a chargeback. If you just want future charges to stop, cancelling takes a minute and doesn't need a dispute at all.
If you do open a chargeback, your licence may be paused while it's reviewed. Paddle will give your bank the order details, including any consent you gave at checkout. None of this limits your legal right to dispute a charge with your bank or card issuer.
